The SEC is vicious. Everyone knows it when it comes to football, but it’s becoming more and more evident that the Southeastern Conference is a gauntlet to play through in baseball as well. The Diamond Hogs found that out the hard way last weekend, when the #13 ranked Razorbacks got swept by the now #10 ranked South Carolina Gamecocks.
Everything looked off in that series. The Hogs pitching, which was supposed to be the facet of this team that they could lean on coming into the season, struggled all weekend. The Razorbacks lacked the ability to close out innings, and gave up a big lead in the last game of the series.
