The seventh in a series previewing the position groups for the Arkansas
Razorbacks
FAYETTEVILLE -- Another year, the same story line for the University of Arkansas linebacker unit.
Is there enough quality depth to give stalwart middle linebacker De'Jon "Scoota" Harris in-game breathers to keep him fresh for the fourth quarter? Is there more up-and-coming talent like weak-side linebacker Bumper Pool, who was thrust into the season opener as a true freshman last fall after an injury to Dre Greenlaw and is now a starter?
At a glance
Returning starters De’Jon Harris (12 starts in 2018)
Losses Dre Greenlaw (8), Giovanni LaFrance, Dee Walker
Who’s back Bumper Pool (4), Hayden Henry (1), Grant Morgan, Deon Edwards, Andrew Parker
Who’s new D’Vone McClure (switched from nickel back), Zach Zimos
Walk-ons Cedric Johnson, John Miscoll, Logan Orr, Asa Shearin, McKinley Williams, Jake Yurachek
Coordinator John Chavis said prior to training camp that it was on him to prepare the depth behind Harris and Pool to keep the heavy reps off Harris, who led the SEC with 118 tackles and 62 solos.
