MEMPHIS — Arkansas receiver Dazmin James broke the program record for longest touchdown reception Friday night at the Liberty Bowl.
James’ 94-yard touchdown reception gave the Razorbacks a 21-3 lead over Texas Tech with 2:31 remaining in the first quarter.
The catch broke a 22-year-old program record set when Matt Jones threw a 92-yard touchdown pass to Richard Smith during the fourth quarter of a 2002 game at Tennessee. That score forced overtime, helping create one of college football’s longest games, a 41-38 victory by the Volunteers in 6 overtimes.
