FAYETTEVILLE — Former Arkansas Razorbacks All-American guard Darrell Walker has led Clark Atlanta University to the NCAA Division II Tournament in his first season as the Panthers' coach.
Clark Atlanta beat Fort Valley State 64-62 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament championship game Saturday night in Birmingham, Ala., to earn an NCAA Tournament bid.
Fort Valley State led 62-61 before Panthers senior forward Chuka Eneh hit a three-point basket in the final seconds for the winning margin.
"It was a dogfight," Walker said Sunday. "You know how these conference tournaments are. Both teams want to get to the NCAA Tournament so bad and they're really going after it.
