OMAHA, Neb. — It is expected to be sunny with a high temperature of 97 degrees Saturday afternoon when Arkansas plays its College World Series opener against Stanford at Schwab Field.
With a heat index forecast at 106 degrees, it will be the hottest game either team has played in this season.
It was almost at the other extreme when the teams met in Round Rock, Texas, on Feb. 27. The Cardinal won 5-0 on a cold, blustery final day of the Round Rock Classic when a stiff north wind blew into hitters’ faces throughout the afternoon.
