Collins fit for extra workload

FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas tailback Alex Collins trimmed down from about 230 pounds in the spring to 210 pounds for fall camp, and now he's projected to put his leaner frame to more use.

The workload for Collins is expected to increase now that senior starter Jonathan Williams has been lost for the season after foot surgery.

"I believe in myself," Collins said Thursday. "Just thinking back in high school when I got a lot of carries, it just reminded me that I can do it."

Collins said he hasn't had a specific conversation with the coaches about an added work load, but the Razorbacks' two-time 1,000-yard rusher knows how the game works.
