TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Nick Pappas hit two homers, including a two-run shot in the seventh inning that lifted College of Charleston to a 3-2 win over Auburn on Sunday night.
Pappas had three of the Cougars' four hits to help College of Charleston (45-14) advance to the Tallahassee Regional championship. The Cougars will play Florida State (43-19) for the regional title Monday.
Chase Henry (3-1) pitched 2 1/3 shutout innings in relief of starter Nathan Helvey.
Pappas homered off Tigers starter Dalton Rentz in the second to give College of Charleston a 1-0 lead. Damon Haecker and Jordan Ebert had RBI singles for Auburn (36-26), which took a 2-1 lead into the seventh.
