Good news, Razorbacks fans. Arkansas has finished first among SEC football programs even if it’s only in … recycling.
Arkansas led all SEC programs in “diversion rate” – the rate of potential waste kept out of landfills – in a study produced by the Environmental Protection Agency, the school announced Friday.
No, diversion rate doesn’t have anything to do with third or fourth downs. So what is it?
Basically, it means that a high rate of waste (76.855 percent) generated at two Arkansas home games selected for the study (October 8 against Alabama and November 12 against LSU) ended up in recycling receptacles instead of landfills.
