Calipari, Musick Owe a Huge Part of Their Success to Same Former Junior College Coach

Hunter Yurachek believes he has found a “hidden gem and a rising star” to lead the Arkansas women’s basketball program in Kelsi Musick.

Officially announced as the Razorbacks’ new head coach Friday, the 45-year-old was introduced to reporters Monday and will have a public welcome event next week after spring break.

Musick replaces Mike Neighbors, who held the position for eight years before being let go, and has agreed to a five-year deal worth $600,000 annually.

During a three-year stint at Oral Roberts, the Canton, Okla., native turned around a middling program by posting back-to-back 20-win seasons the last two years.
