FAYETTEVILLE — Montaric Brown has played football all his life and rarely had to look on from the sidelines when his defense was on the field.
But the state’s top prospect in the 2018 class spent a lot of time his first one-and-a-half seasons at Arkansas doing just that before breaking through late as a redshirt freshman.
Brown (6-0, 193), a four-star prospect who starred at Ashdown High School, played in 11 games last season, making a push late in the year to start three and see 117 snaps on defense.
"It was very difficult,” Brown said of not being on the field, “but it was just God's plan.
