Unless you’re a massive college hoops junkie, you probably weren’t tuned in to the brand new “College Basketball Crown” tournament, a postseason invitational tournament for teams that missed out on the Big Dance. The inaugural tournament gave 16 fanbases of March Madness cutting-floor programs something to think about other than transfer portal shenanigans.
Arkansas basketball coach Eric Musselman’s USC Trojans made a minor splash, defeating Tulane before falling to Villanova in the quarterfinals last week. During the matchup against ‘Nova, the FS1 broadcasters had some interesting things to say about Musselman’s time in Fayetteville.
When Musselman left the Razorbacks for USC last offseason, it was almost universally viewed as a win-win situation.
