FAYETTEVILLE — With a three-pitch arsenal serving as his sling shot, Arkansas junior Blaine Knight has become college baseball's giant slayer.
After the Razorbacks defeated Auburn 2-1 Friday, Knight has been the winning pitcher in three consecutive starts. What makes that stretch notable is who Knight has out-dueled.
On Friday it was Auburn right-hander Casey Mize, considered by many the nation's top arm and who entered the matchup undefeated. The two previous weeks, Knight was the winning pitcher against Ole Miss lefty Ryan Rolison (by a final score of 6-4) and Florida right-hander Brady Singer (6-3).
Singer, Mize and Rolison are rated Nos.
