Team USA got off to a sluggish start Friday night in the quarterfinals of the FIBA U18 Americas Championship against Mexico in Tijuana, Mexico.
But Arkansas basketball signee Anthony Black provided a spark off the bench and helped his team grab a 92-64 victory to move on to Saturday’s semifinal round.
Though the 6-7 guard finished the win with 3 points on 1 of 5 shooting and had 4 turnovers, he was one of Team USA’s most effective players. It outscored Mexico by 14 points in his 23:19 on the floor.
Black recorded a game-high 11 rebounds, including 4 on the offensive end, handed out 4 assists and tallied 4 steals and 2 blocks.
