Better late than never for Jones

FAYETTEVILLE — Former Arkansas quarterback Matt Jones wore a sling on his right arm and shoulder Wednesday when he spoke to the Northwest Arkansas Touchdown Club.

Jones said he had the surgery three weeks ago to repair a torn labrum he suffered in the spring of 2002, prior to his junior season with the Razorbacks.

Jones said he injured his shoulder by overthrowing in the spring after he missed some practices because he was playing for the basketball team.
