The White (the first-teamers) beat the Red 39-21 Saturday to conclude the Arkansas Razorbacks’ – and the SEC’s, for that matter – spring football “season.” Austin Allen made his debut as the starting quarterback and was 13-of-19 for 141 yards. Allen also owned the play of the day and showed the 30,546 in attendance what the coaches have called his “surfer boy swag” by turning a bad snap into a beautiful touchdown pass to Keon Hatcher. Allen was not rattled by bad snaps or discouraged after failed scoring attempts, but he also showed the flaw that frustrates his coaches most by forcing throws that simply were not there.
