Around campus: Football to play Coastal Carolina, Kingsley is elite and Vitello sticking around

FAYETTEVILLE - A big day in Conway, South Carolina, on Thursday. First the Coastal Carolina baseball team won the College World Series. Next, Chanticleers fans found out they’ll play Arkansas in football in 2017.

That is, at least, according to a report by the Sun-News, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Coastal Carolina plays in the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA), but by the time the game comes around, they’ll be in Football Bowl Subdivision, playing in the Sun Belt, where they’re scheduled to move after the 2016 season.

If the game comes to fruition, three of Arkansas’ four likely nonconference opponents in the 2017 season will be known.
