FAYETTEVILLE — Marc Burns was hired Monday to coach distance runners for the Arkansas women’s track and field program.
Burns, 56, previously served as the head coach for the Missouri men’s and women’s programs from 2014-21. He stepped down at Missouri following the 2021 cross country season to work as a sales director for a treadmill company.
“He’s been in the private sector the past couple of years but wanted to get back into coaching,” Arkansas head coach Chris Johnson said in a news release announcing Burns’ hiring. “We’re very impressed with the conversations that we’ve had with him.
