Arkansas women's basketball loses heartbreaker to Mizzou

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas women's basketball guard Izzy Higginbottom eluded a Missouri defender with time running out in the opening quarter and released a shot from half-court.

The ball banked off the backboard and through the net, which seemingly gave the Razorbacks a 24-20 lead.

But after reviewing the play, officials ruled Higginbottom didn’t get the shot off in time. It proved to provide more misery for the Razorbacks, especially at the end.

Missouri broke a tie score in the final seconds as Laniah Randle stole an inbounds pass and went all the way in for an uncontested layup with 2 seconds left, giving the Tigers a wild 75-73 win Thursday night at Bud Walton Arena.
