FAYETTEVILLE — Following his team’s 62-61 loss at Georgia on Sunday, eighth-year Arkansas women’s basketball coach Mike Neighbors did not fly home with his team.
Neighbors stayed back to hit the recruiting trail while his disheartened team spent its flight back to Fayetteville replaying the loss in its head. It was new territory for the Razorbacks — their first time in SEC play to lose by fewer than 20 points.
Arkansas (9-17, 2-9 SEC) had not lost by one possession since a 75-72 loss to Texas Tech on Dec. 15. The defeat hit the Razorbacks hard and it dropped them into a tie with Missouri for last in the league.
