FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas will be facing a dynamic Alabama offense this Saturday against the Crimson Tide, one that is unlike anything Alabama ran in the not-so-distant past.
While previously Alabama had a strict pro-style offense, it has since became more multiple, with spread offense elements included over the past three seasons under offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin.
“I think they have an identity that’s unique to them,” Arkansas defensive coordinator Robb Smith said this week. “They’re close to about 60 percent three wide receivers in the game on first and second downs and about 40 percent two tight ends, what we call ‘12 personnel.
