PROVIDENCE, R.I. — As the fouls started to pile up for Arkansas, its March Madness run appeared to be in serious danger in the second round.
Not only were the Razorbacks playing with a short bench and at risk of being forced to put walk-ons in the game, but the tight whistle also could have impacted their aggressive defense that helped them build their lead against St. John’s.
With the exception of a few plays, though, that never happened and Arkansas completed the shocking 75-66 upset of the 2 seed in front of a very pro-Red Storm crowd at Amica Mutual Pavilion.
