FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas first baseman Danielle Gibson had a game for the record books Saturday at Bogle Park.
Gibson, a sophomore, tied the NCAA record with four home runs and recorded 10 RBI in the Razorbacks' 15-3 win over SIU-Edwardsville. Arkansas, ranked No. 12, improved to 11-3 overall.
Gibson hit home runs in the first, second, third and fourth innings. The game ended before she could bat in the fifth because of a run rule.
She is the sixth player in NCAA history to hit four home runs in a game. Gibson's performance included the rare home-run cycle - a solo home run, two-run home run, three-run home run and grand slam.
