Arkansas softball's 'Bash Sisters' open SEC play against strong Ole Miss pitching staff

FAYETTEVILLE — There is a new nickname for a pair of players in the heart of the Arkansas softball team’s batting lineup.

Because of their combined 66 RBI and 19 home runs, Bri Ellis and Courtney Day have been labeled “The Bash Sisters.” Entering this week, the duo had driven in more runs than 147 Division I teams.

“I think they're quite a tag team,” Arkansas coach Courtney Deifel said. “And I think that they thrive in that [with] what people are starting to call them….Being able to support and protect each other in the lineup, I think, is huge.
