FAYETTEVILLE — SEC softball coaches voted Arkansas seventh in the conference’s preseason poll, the league office announced Thursday.
Texas, ranked No. 1 nationally in the ESPN/USA Softball preseason poll, was voted to win the SEC. The Longhorns received seven first-place votes, Florida received six and Oklahoma two.
Arkansas (104 points) was 11 points behind sixth-place LSU, and one point ahead of eighth-place Georgia. The Razorbacks were also ahead of Missouri, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Auburn, Ole Miss and South Carolina.
The Razorbacks finished fourth in the 13-team SEC last season, the same spot league coaches predicted them in the preseason.
