FAYETTEVILLE — Of the 11 returning SEC softball players who were named to the conference’s first team last season, two were omitted from the 24-player preseason team in 2025.
Reagan Johnson, the mainstay center fielder for Arkansas the past two seasons, was one of them. Her omission came after ranking fourth in the SEC in hits (73) and sixth in batting average (.380) as a sophomore last year.
“When I saw it, I was a little upset,” Johnson said. “But I just had to kind of realize that, one, I can use it as motivation, and two, that it doesn't matter.
