Arkansas softball made a statement on its first day at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, Calif.
The 10th-ranked Razorbacks (12-0) swept a Thursday doubleheader against Cal State Fullerton and Rutgers, winning both games 10-0 in five innings.
It marked seven consecutive run-rule victories for the Razorbacks, and the third in a row by the same score.
The victory over Cal State Fullerton (8-4), a perennially strong mid-major team, was highlighted by a one-hit pitching performance by Arkansas lefty Robyn Herron.
“[Our mindset is] just to show out for everyone who's maybe been doubting us, even with our run-rule victories,” Herron said postgame on the FloCollege broadcast.
