Arkansas soccer uses complete team performance to beat Oklahoma State in NCAA Tournament first round

FAYETTEVILLE — Throughout the season, Kate Doyle had games like she did during the second-seeded Arkansas soccer team’s NCAA Tournament opening 4-0 victory over Oklahoma State on Friday at Razorback Field.

Six matches into the season she had 7 goals, including a brace against Gonzaga, her former team.

But the tournament is the tournament. Higher stakes require step-up performances.

In her first NCAA Tournament match, Doyle — a graduate striker from Seattle — scored the Razorbacks’ opener in the sixth minute with excellent close control in the box to move past two defenders before cooly finishing into the bottom corner.
