FAYETTEVILLE — Josh Breaux, considered one of the headliners of Arkansas’ 2018 baseball signing class, was selected in the second round, 61st overall by the New York Yankees in the MLB Draft on Monday.
Breaux, a 6-2, 215-pound catcher from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas, was rated as the No. 88 draft prospect by Baseball America in 2018 and the top junior college prospect in the nation in December, according to Perfect Game.
The Tomball, Texas, native batted .401 with 19 home runs and 82 RBI in 59 games as a freshman at McLennan.
