That is to whom Maurice Britt — a former Arkansas Razorback athlete (football and basketball), Congressional Medal of Honor winner and four-time Purple Heart recipient — dedicated Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium on September 19, 1948.
That simple dedication sentence swayed my thoughts and changed the path of this story.
The simple phrase brought to mind the men and women of World Wars I and II who died defending our country and also caused me to reflect on the ones who came home to build the state and the university I love.
