FAYETTEVILLE – As much as a fan base collectively exhaled after Arkansas’ four-overtime win against Auburn on Saturday, Brandon Allen admitted he did much the same.
The Arkansas quarterback could finally put to rest criticisms plaguing his two-plus years as a starter. Allen finally won the big game. And he did it in style, going 8 of 11 passing for 74 yards and two touchdowns in overtime.
It was his best career late-game performance both by the numbers and to the eyes. And Allen realizes it.
“Just in the fact that we closed one out that was close,” Allen said.
