FAYETTEVILLE — With the smallest crowd of the year and rain threatening throughout, Arkansas coaches felt Sunday’s series finale against Gonzaga set up as a trap game.
The No. 5 Razorbacks survived the test, though, and defeated the Bulldogs 9-5 in front of 1,582 at Baum-Walker Stadium. Arkansas (7-0) swept the four-game series against the Bulldogs, the preseason favorite to win the West Coast Conference.
"We could have walked away from this, 'Well, we won the first three,' but our guys showed up today," Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said. "Rainy day, 3-0, they had a great attitude.
