FAYETTEVILLE — Courtney Scott Deifel has been hired as Arkansas' head softball coach.
Scott Deifel was head coach at Maryland in 2015, finishing with a 27-27 record. She replaces Mike Larabee, who was fired after the Razorbacks went 1-23 in SEC games this year.
Larabee was 149-181 in six seasons and took Arkansas to the NCAA Tournament twice. Scott Deifel will be the fourth head coach in Arkansas' program history.
“Courtney’s coaching pedigree, her success as a student-athlete and her ability to transform and cultivate a winning culture as a head coach are qualities we are looking to instill in our program," Arkansas athletics director Jeff Long said in a statement.
