Count Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson as one more person who doesn’t want a longtime Razorbacks football tradition to go away.
The governor encouraged the school to continue playing occasional games at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, as reported by The Associated Press.
Hutchinson signed a bill that places War Memorial Stadium under the control of the state’s parks and tourism department. War Memorial Stadium seats 54,000 fans, while Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on the Arkansas campus in Fayetteville seats 72,000.
In past years, the Razorbacks played games in Little Rock more frequently than the current once-a-year arrangement, which began in 2014.
