FAYETTEVILLE — Freshman Braylen Russell led Arkansas in rushing for the first time in the 19-14 win over Tennessee after senior Ja’Quinden Jackson did it through the first five games.
Russell had back-to-back carries of 24 and 11 yards on the Hogs’ game-winning touchdown drive to reach 62 for the game. Jackson ran for 57 yards and extended his streak of games with a touchdown run to all six this season.
Coach Sam Pittman said Russell’s success against Tennessee should have a carryover effect.
“I think any time somebody has success that it … you know, half the game or more is in the mind,” Pittman said.
