Arkansas football notebook: Texas Tech star uncertain for bowl game; Razorbacks' 117-year history in Memphis

MEMPHIS — Texas Tech star Tahj Brooks is listed as the starter at running back against Arkansas in Friday’s Liberty Bowl, but his availability is still uncertain.

“I’d say it’s 50/50,” Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire said Thursday. “I’m letting him totally decide that.”

Brooks, a 5-10, 230-pound senior, is one of two players this season — alongside Heisman Trophy runner-up Ashton Jeanty of Boise State — who has rushed for at least 100 yards in each game. He ranks seventh nationally with 1,505 rushing yards and 10th with 17 touchdowns.

Earlier this season, Brooks broke Byron Hanspard’s record to became Texas Tech’s all-time leading rusher.
