MEMPHIS — Arkansas football coach Sam Pittman is eligible for a $250,000 pay raise following the Razorbacks’ 39-26 victory over Texas Tech on Friday at the Liberty Bowl.
According to terms of Pittman’s contract extension signed in 2022, seasons with winning records include escalating pay raises between $250,000 and $750,000. Arkansas finished this season with a 7-6 record.
If applied, Pittman’s annual salary will be increased to $5.5 million beginning Jan. 1. According to the contract, he also will earn $1.3 million next year that will be paid as a retention bonus.
It is the second time Pittman has been eligible for a $250,000 pay raise for a 7-6 season that ended with a Liberty Bowl victory.
