The late afternoon ping of aluminum bats were the sweetest sound to the second-ranked Arkansas baseball team Sunday in Music City.
After scuffling for several innings against Vanderbilt right-handers Connor Fennell and Alex Kranzler, the Razorbacks broke through with a 5-run eighth inning to take a 7-3 lead, and they won their eighth consecutive SEC game by that score at Hawkins Field.
Arkansas (26-3, 8-1 SEC) players and coaches boarded a happy flight home from Nashville, Tenn., as the first team to sweep Vanderbilt on its home field since 2022. The Razorbacks outscored the Commodores 22-7 during the weekend series.
