FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas will spend New Year’s in Memphis.
The Arkansas football team was announced as a participant in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee, on January 2. The Razorbacks, 7-5 finishers in the regular season will play 6-6 Kansas State from the Big XII. January 2 is a Saturday. Kickoff will be a 2:20 p.m.
Arkansas has played Kansas State in a bowl game before – Arkansas beat the Wildcats in the 2012 Cotton Bowl, 29-16.
That was the final game at Arkansas for coach Bobby Petrino. Arkansas’ current coach, Bret Bielema, spent two seasons in Manhattan, Kansas, as co-defensive coordinator for coach Bill Snyder.
