Ten months later, Calipari did it again in his return to Rupp Arena.
One of most anticipated games of 2025 resulted in one of the season’s biggest upsets Saturday night as the Razorbacks defeated the 12th-ranked Wildcats 89-79.
Calipari’s 249th victory at the arena had to be one of his most satisfying. Arkansas was an 11 1/2-point underdog and he was greeted by mostly boos with a mix of applause as he stepped onto the court shortly before tipoff.
The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame coach spent 15 seasons at Kentucky and led the Wildcats to their most recent national championship in 2012.
