FAYETTEVILLE — The 18th-ranked Arkansas men’s basketball team heated up after halftime and the Razorbacks pulled away from Troy for a 65-49 victory Wednesday at Bud Walton Arena.
Arkansas (2-1) made 14 of 22 field goals, including 8 of 12 from three-point range in the second half. The Razorbacks shot 10 of 34 overall and 2 of 11 from three in the first half.
Nelly Davis’ runner with 16:27 remaining gave Arkansas the lead for good at 34-32. That was part of a 12-2 run that gave the Razorbacks a 41-34 advantage.
Troy (2-1) pulled within 41-38 on consecutive layups by Myles Rigsby, but a 7-0 Arkansas run over 35 seconds out of the second media timeout of the second half helped put the game away.
