LSU leaned on one of its biggest strengths — free throw shooting — to hold off Arkansas for a 78-74 win Tuesday night in Baton Rouge.
The Tigers made 26 of 28 free throws, including all 10 it took in the first half and its final 10 of the game.
LSU entered as the SEC’s third-best free throw shooting team at 74.9% and improved on that with the 92.9% effort against the Razorbacks.
Guard Cam Carter, who scored a game-high 27 points, led the way by making 10 of 10.
The 92.9% was LSU’s best free throw performance of the season when it took more than 11 shots.
