With an average of 5.1 million viewers on CBS, the Arkansas-Illinois basketball game Nov. 28 was a big success.
The Fighting Illini’s 90-77 victory over the Razorbacks at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City was the second most-watched college basketball game during the regular season since 2008.
The only regular-season game with more viewers was a Thanksgiving game in 2023 between Arizona and Michigan State, which averaged 5.2 million viewers on FOX.
Following his team’s 82-57 victory over Central Arkansas in North Little Rock on Saturday, Arkansas coach John Calipari indicated the Razorbacks would be part of a Thanksgiving broadcast again next year in Chicago.
