Arkansas basketball gets revenge, beats LSU to help tournament hopes

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas basketball gave its border rival a dose of revenge while strengthening its NCAA Tournament case Wednesday night at Bud Walton Arena.

The Razorbacks avenged a Jan. 14 loss at LSU with a 70-58 victory over the Tigers. It was the fourth win for Arkansas in its last six games.

Arkansas (15-9, 4-7 SEC) trailed at halftime 35-34 but went on multiple runs in the second half to build a comfortable lead that it protected. LSU was outscored 36-23 in the second half.

It was an important win for the Razorbacks regarding their postseason aspirations.
