FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas sophomore right-hander Gabe Gaeckle will get the ball when the Razorbacks open the 2025 baseball season with a game against Washington State on Friday.
Gaeckle was announced as the Game 1 starter Wednesday by coach Arkansas Dave Van Horn. He will be followed in the rotation, in order, by left-hander Zach Root, right-hander Gage Wood and left-hander Landon Beidelschies.
“I’m excited about those four,” Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said.
Root (East Carolina) and Beidelschies (Ohio State) are transfers in their first — and likely only — year with the program.
The Arkansas-Washington State series is scheduled to begin Friday at 3 p.
