Arkansas baseball pitcher Parker Coil won't pitch 'for a while' with injury

NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Junior left-handed pitcher Parker Coil will miss playing time with a back injury, Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said Tuesday following the Razorbacks’ 7-4 victory over Grambling State at Dickey-Stephens Park.

“He won’t be pitching for a while, I can just tell you that,” Van Horn said.

Coil was unavailable for Arkansas’ series finale at Vanderbilt last weekend. Van Horn said following the 7-3 Sunday victory that Coil was “cramping up a little bit in his back” while warming up the day before.

Coil’s 0.60 ERA in 15 innings is the best on the Razorbacks’ team, and his 10 appearances are second on the team behind Dylan Carter's 11.
