ARLINGTON, Texas — Arkansas pitcher Gage Wood left Sunday’s game against Michigan with the Razorbacks' training staff.
Team trainer Corey Wood, team orthopedic doctor Brad Reeves and pitching coach Matt Hobbs went to the mound to check on the junior right-hander after he threw a warmup pitch prior to the third inning.
Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn was being interviewed by FloCollege at the time Wood was being evaluated and said he did not know the nature of what caused him to leave the game.
“We tell our pitchers to be really cautious and if there’s any issue at all, don’t try to tough it out,” Van Horn said.
