FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas baseball coach Dave Van Horn said Tuesday he was encouraged by the results of a Monday MRI for pitcher Gage Wood.

Wood, a junior right-hander, left his start against Michigan on Sunday in Arlington, Texas, with a shoulder injury after throwing a warmup pitch prior to the third inning.

“It was a good result for us,” Van Horn said on the Razorback Sports Network pregame radio show. “It looks like he’s got an impingement in there of some sort. He’s just going to have to rehab it and get the swelling down. It looks like it’s clean, so that’s great news.
