FAYETTEVILLE — Nine innings were needed for a baseball game Sunday at Baum-Walker Stadium.
After winning four consecutive games by 7-inning run rules, third-ranked Arkansas had a tougher time putting away Portland by a score of 5-3 in the series finale. The Razorbacks won the first two games of the series by a combined score of 30-3.
Arkansas (15-1) won its 11th consecutive game and improved to 13-0 at home.
“You just knew it was going to be tight after what happened Friday and then yesterday, those run rules,” Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said. “You walk somebody off in a 7-inning game and they sit there and watch.
