Arkansas baseball dominates Mizzou, sets record for runs in an SEC series

FAYETTEVILLE — Following the most dominant SEC weekend in program history, Arkansas might become college baseball’s top-ranked team Monday.

The second-ranked Razorbacks defeated Missouri 14-4 and 16-2 in a pair of 7-inning games Sunday at Baum-Walker Stadium.

Arkansas (30-3, 11-1 SEC) swept the series by a combined score of 51-9 over Missouri (11-20, 0-12), with no game longer than 7 innings. The Razorbacks won by a run-rule score of 21-3 in Saturday’s opener that was postponed the day before due to severe weather.

It was the highest-scoring weekend for Arkansas in SEC play. The Razorbacks scored 50 during a 1997 series victory at South Carolina, which included a 30-7 score in the final game.
