FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn provided encouraging updates on pitchers Gage Wood and Hunter Dietz on Monday.
Speaking at the March meeting of the Swatters Club at Fayetteville Public Library, Van Horn said Wood might be farther along than he thought he would be at this point in his recovery from a shoulder injury suffered Feb. 23 against Michigan in Arlington, Texas.
“He’s already playing catch with the football…and the other day he actually threw a baseball,” Van Horn said. “He’s not feeling any pain. We’ve got to bring him back slow.”
Last Tuesday, Van Horn said Wood could miss 3-6 weeks with the injury that was diagnosed as an impingement in his throwing shoulder.
